Officials announce completion of $1.3 million Mt. Sinai paving project

Daniel J. Panico Supervisor | Town of Brookhaven

Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have announced the completion of a 15-road paving project in Mount Sinai.

Before paving, crews inspected and installed drains, repaired, and replaced damaged concrete curbing, aprons, and sidewalks at a cost of approximately $428,000. The resurfaced roadways include Apple Court, Apricot Road, Brian Lane, Crabapple Court, Date Court, Laura Court, Maureen Drive, Orange Court, Papaya Court, Peach Tree Lane, Pear Court, Pitt Road, Plum Court, Sean Lane, and Steven Court. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $1.3 million.

“This project involved a lot of paving preparation to replace a great deal of damaged concrete curbs and aprons. In addition, the roadways in this neighborhood had greatly deteriorated,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “I was grateful to include their resurfacing in our 2024 paving season.”

Councilwoman Bonner said: “Resurfacing 15 roads in Mt. Sinai has made travel so much safer for driving, biking and walking. I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the men and women of the highway department for making these road improvements in time for the start of school which is right around the corner.”
