Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the indictment of Jeremy Allen, 43, from East Quogue, on charges including Murder in the First Degree for the alleged torture and murder of Christopher Hahn, also 43.

"The alleged actions of this defendant were vicious, brutal, and senseless," stated District Attorney Tierney. "We will do everything in our power to seek justice for Christopher Hahn."

The investigation revealed that on September 27, 2024, Allen and Hahn spent time at a bar before returning to Allen's home in East Quogue. Surveillance footage allegedly recorded sounds of a beating lasting about 18 minutes shortly after midnight. The footage further showed Allen allegedly dragging a semi-conscious Hahn onto his rear deck. Later, Allen was reportedly seen striking Hahn with a baseball bat.

Allegedly aware that Hahn was still alive, Allen is said to have placed a plastic bag over his head. Surveillance allegedly captured him watching as Hahn struggled to breathe for approximately eight minutes.

Allen then allegedly retrieved a knife and stabbed Hahn in the neck ten times before watching him die nearly six hours after the ordeal began. Subsequently, he contacted his handyman to clean up the scene. Upon arrival, the handyman saw blood throughout the house and discovered Hahn's body covered by a blanket on the back deck. After convincing Allen to let him leave, the handyman called police.

Allen was arrested at his residence soon after these events unfolded.

On October 10, 2024, Allen appeared before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei facing charges including Murder in the First Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He remains remanded until his next court appearance on November 14, 2024. If convicted of the top charge, he faces life imprisonment. Colin Astarita is representing him legally.

Assistant District Attorney Elena Tomaro from the Homicide Bureau is prosecuting this case with Detective Michael Ronca leading the investigation from Suffolk County Police Department's Homicide Squad.
