Supervisor Panico's team triumphs in local youth basketball tournament

Michael Loguercio Council District 4 | Town of Brookhaven

On October 24, a "3-on-3 Basketball Tournament" took place at William Floyd High School Gymnasium in Mastic Beach. The event featured Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilman Neil Foley competing against local teenagers aged 13 to 17. Supervisor Panico's team remained undefeated during the tournament.

The tournament was organized by the Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau and included basketball games, refreshments, prizes, and a raffle. A notable moment occurred when the winner of a new bicycle gave it to another teen who needed one.

Participants in the tournament included officers from the Suffolk County Police 7th Precinct, friends, teammates, and opponents. Support for the event came from various organizations including the Brookhaven Town Public Safety team, Mastic Ambulance Volunteer Company, William Floyd School Board, and the local community. Entertainment was provided by Party 105.3 throughout the evening.
