Brookhaven co-sponsors annual Teddy Bear Run for charity

Supervisor Dan Panico has announced that the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE program will host the Red Knights Motorcycle Club New York Chapter 26 Teddy Bear Run on November 24. The event is held annually to collect donations of new teddy bears for children in need within Brookhaven Town.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at Terryville Fire Department Station 1, located at 19 Jayne Blvd. in Port Jefferson. The ride starts at noon and concludes with lunch at Painters’ Restaurant, situated at 416 South Country Road in Brookhaven. Non-riders can join for lunch at Painters' from 1 p.m.

The participation fee for riders and passengers is $25 or $30 without a teddy bear donation. The first 100 riders will receive a complimentary t-shirt. Donations can be dropped off either at Terryville Fire Department Station 1 or Painters'. The Teddy Bear Run will proceed "Rain or Shine." If weather conditions are unfavorable, participants are encouraged to bring their teddy bear donations directly to Painters' by 1 p.m.

The Town of Brookhaven INTERFACE program relies on volunteerism and generous contributions from partners to provide goods and services to those in need. The town acknowledges the efforts of volunteers and appreciates the generosity of residents who support these causes.
