Smithtown Promise Shared With Students

The "Smithtown Promise" | SCSD

The Smithtown Central School District, under the direction of Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur, is introducing, The Smithtown Promise.

The new initiative serves as a reminder that each and every one of “our students has dignity, belongs here, has the capacity to make a positive difference and can excel,” said Secaur.

“The Smithtown Promise outlines four principles and 16 habits for adults and young people to establish and nurture,” he continued. “These principles and habits will be reinforced throughout the school system and will allow us to better create a culture of dignity for our students.”

The four principles are: Your dignity is a given. You belong here. You are a difference maker, and You were made to excel.

The Smithtown Promise is rooted in research-based practices. It reflects a focus on engaging the community in support of the established vision and values of the Smithtown Central School District.
