The South Shore Press congratulates the 17 young men and women who recently participated in the Suffolk County Police Department Explorer graduation.

The teens participated in a week-long training at the Suffolk County Police Academy where they learned about firearms, criminal justice, the penal law and took part in physical agility training.

This program provides teens an opportunity to determine if a career in law enforcement is a field they want to pursue.

At graduation, certificates were presented by Deputy Inspector Steve Rohde of the Police Academy Bureau and Sgt. Linda Piotrowski of the Community Response Bureau.
