The South Shore Press congratulates Suffolk AME (Association of Municipal Employees) member Karen Malewicz, who was honored at the Police Civilian Unit’s annual Civilian Longevity Awards Ceremony.

Karen has worked for a total of five decades, primarily, and currently, at the Suffolk County Police Department Information Technology Bureau, where she’s been serving taxpayers for the past 40 years.

Suffolk AME is the largest independent Union in Suffolk County, representing more than 6,000 active and retired public employees.

The union constitutes 30 different Unit Boards ranging from Consumer Affairs and Civil Service, Crossing Guards, DPW, and Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, to Vector Control, Suffolk County Community College, the Department of Social Services, and more.
