The Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held on March 12 @ 1:00 pm. The parade route started at Harrison Avenue and Route 25A in Miller Place and then finished at Broadway in Rocky Point.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “The Miller Place-Rocky Point Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is a wonderful time to honor the Irish and I was happy to honor this year’s Grand Marshal and Scholarship Recipient. The parade is a great North Shore tradition that draws more and more people every year.”

The Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade has a rich history that dates back to 1949, when two local businessmen, John M. Sullivan and George Faulkner, formed a committee of local residents and businessmen to organize a parade. On March 11, 1950, the first Grand Marshal, John Sullivan, led the parade down Route 25A from Miller Place to downtown Rocky Point. Nearly 1000 people attended the inaugural event.
