Lament of a Refugee Camp Aide
Oh how my heart breaks
for the children
who had
undergone
traumas of war
too horrific
to endure
for ones
so young—
turning into
those chillingly eerie
beings:
the living dead;
Dear Lord!
Please give me
the wisdom, the strength—
to help these poor children,
I beg!!
