Sachem North won their first game of the season and it was the perfect time for a W as they celebrated their homecoming.

Sachem North moved their record to 1-2 with a 31-6 victory against Bay Shore on Saturday. The Flaming Arrows were led by back Lucas Singleton, who scored three rushing touchdowns on the day and had two interceptions.

After the game Singleton spoke about how the Arrows have wanted this sort of win all year. Singleton said "I think every team wants to establish an identity and I think today we established it."

The ground attack was needed on the rainy day and Singleton looked unstoppable at times.

The homecoming festivities celebrated Sachem North football alumni Jerry Figgiani to serve as honorary captain. Figgiani is from the Class of 1978 and was also Sachem’s first running back to rush for 1,000 yards. He helped the Flaming Arrows win their first Suffolk County championship and Rutgers Trophy in 1977. He also was an inductee of the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame, Sachem Hall of Honor and Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame, is a world renowned martial arts expert and past United States Karate champion.
