The Lions Stay Unbeaten

The Longwood Unified Basketball team ended their remarkable season this week and the stories to go along with this team have been captivating.

The best feel-good story of the year came in the final game when senior coach Nicholas Meyer made the first basket of the game, with help from the Robotics Team. Meyer worked with the team and you can feel the whole school backing his tremendous basket.

That basket proved to be one of the key points in a close win over Miller Place 62-59. That kept the Lions undefeated on the season and this has been a season of records as they also set the mark for most points scored in a Unified basketball game with 72.

After the victory, the team celebrated their seniors Tyrell Bostick, Linda Matthews, Lindsey Zugel, and Ryan Young. The Lions have shown this season is a full team effort and a year with outstanding storylines but none bigger than the first basket to lead the team to their perfect record season.
