Firefighters tackle warehouse blaze in Kings Park for seven hours

On February 8th at 20:34, the Smithtown Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire near Lawrence Rd and Old Northport Rd in Kings Park. Upon arrival, crews discovered a large pile of debris on fire inside a warehouse, with flames spreading to the roof. The situation was escalated to a working commercial structure fire, prompting mutual aid requests to Commack, Kings Park, St James, Hauppauge, and Nesconset.

Multiple units including 4-2-31, 4-2-32, 4-2-33, 4-2-5, 4-2-6-5, 4-2-4, 4-2-2, 4-2-9, 4-2-7, 4-2-6-1, and 4-2-15 were involved in the operation. They worked together using hand lines and master streams to control the blaze. Excavators were eventually employed to break up the debris pile and ensure complete extinguishment of the fire.

The firefighting efforts lasted approximately seven hours under the command of First Assistant Chief Diecidue. Photos from the scene were provided by Joe Sperber and Ken Bradbury.
