Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a car crash that killed a driver in Centereach.

According to cops, one person was driving a Honda Pilot southbound on Nicolls Road, between Mark Tree Road and Wireless Road, when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a 2022 Buick Encore, which then sideswiped a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Thursday morning

The driver of the Honda, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Buick, Arielle Klopsis, 28, of West Islip, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of what was described as minor injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, Nicolas Braccio, 28, of Merrick, was not hurt according to police.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, considered standard operating procedures following a serious car crash.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the deadly accident to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
