Middle school students create mini fairground attractions using LEGO

Kevin Meyer Board Member | William Floyd School District

William Paca Middle School's seventh-grade Robotics Discovery students and eighth-grade Intro to Computer Science students, under the guidance of Mrs. Kelsey Campoverde, have been working on an innovative project. Using LEGO SPIKE Prime sets, these students designed, engineered, and programmed miniature fairground attractions without any instructions.

The creations included Ferris wheels, carousels, swings, and other structures built with bricks and motors. This initiative is part of the second year of the Robotics Discovery program at William Paca Middle School.

Mrs. Campoverde expressed her admiration for the students' work: "Students have exceeded my expectations." She highlighted their creativity, effort, and critical thinking in developing these carnival attractions.

A video compilation showcasing their designs in action is available for viewing.
