Substance abuse education workshop offered free for parents and students

On February 10, the Town of Brookhaven Department of General Services Youth Bureau Division will host a workshop titled "The More You Know... Substance Abuse Education Workshop for Parents and Students." This event is free and open to all residents of Brookhaven Town. It will take place in the Media Room on the second floor of Brookhaven Town Hall, located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville.

The workshop will address several topics including "Adolescent Behavior and Development," "Why Adolescents Experiment with Substances," "Current Trends in Adolescent Drug Use," and "Talking to Adolescents About Healthy Decision Making." Attendees will have access to free drug testing kits, and light refreshments will be provided. Those interested are required to RSVP by February 5 by calling 631-451-8011.
