Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team Wins Third Consecutive League Title

WFHS Boys Basketball Team | WFSD

The William Floyd boys’ varsity basketball team, led by head coach Will Slinkosky, recently earned their third consecutive League I title with a 72-64 victory over Brentwood.

This was a historic feat for the Colonials as there has been no other stretch in program history that this feat has been accomplished.

Dahmarion Moses had a dominant performance in the win, recording a double-double with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jawuan Smith added a double-double of his own with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Sharod Sutton’s 17 points and Jermaine King’s 15 points were also instrumental in the league-clinching victory.

The Colonials have clinched their spot in the Class AAA playoffs and will be working hard to achieve their goal of a deep playoff run and a chance to head back to the Suffolk County Championship game.

The Colonials followed up this victory with a 66-51 road victory over Riverhead on January 30 and will close out their regular season on Tuesday, February 4, with a home game against Central Islip, which is also Senior Night.
