Panico and Mazzarella Nonored by Sons of Italy for Community Service

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella were recognized for their contributions to the community by the Sons of Italy, Dr. Calabro Lodge 3011. 

The event took place at the first annual "Celebration of Life & Learning Gala," held at Sunset Harbor Catering in East Patchogue.

During the gala, both officials received proclamations from Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine. Panico and Mazzarella have roots in the Tri-Hamlet area and are graduates of William Floyd High School. They pursued higher education before entering public service.

In addition to their recognition, Panico and Mazzarella participated in presenting the Dr. Calabro Scholarship to 18 students from William Floyd High School and Our Lady Queen of Apostles Regional School in Center Moriches.

Supervisor Panico expressed his gratitude, stating, "I would like to thank the Dr. Calabro Lodge, Legislator Mazzarella and Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine for their continued support of Mastic, Mastic Beach and Shirley community."
