Brookhaven announces recipients of the 2025 Women’s Recognition Awards

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico has revealed the recipients of the 2025 Women's Recognition Awards. These awards will be presented at the 39th Annual Women's Recognition Night on March 20 at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville. The event, open to the public, is organized by the Town's Office of Women's Services within the Department of General Services.

The awardees, nominated by community members, either reside or work in Brookhaven and have shown excellence in various fields. Their selection was based on resumes and recommendation letters reviewed by Brookhaven's Women's Advisory Board.

The 2025 Women’s Recognition Award winners include Mary Beth Lichtneger for Business from Center Moriches, Lily Stolzberg for Communications from Miller Place, Jennifer Hernandez for Community Services Professional from Mount Sinai, Debra L. Engelhardt for Community Service Volunteer from Wading River, Leah Topek-Walker for Education from Patchogue, Leslie A. Mitchel for Government from Port Jefferson, Christina Burke for Health Care Provider associated with Stony Brook Medicine from Great River, Megan O’Donnell for Law Enforcement linked with District Attorney’s Office from Calverton, Stephanie A. Buffa for Legal Profession from East Setauket, Dr. Rachel Davis for Medicine affiliated with Stony Brook Medicine from Roslyn, and Dr. Gabriella Carini for Science from Port Jefferson.

Additionally, special commendations were awarded by town officials: Annette Eaderesto received a commendation from Supervisor Daniel J. Panico; Dr. Jennifer Quinn was recognized by Councilman Jonathan Kornreich; Bea Ruberto was acknowledged by Councilwoman Jane Bonner; Linda Miller received recognition from Councilman Neil A. Manzella; Isabella Rossellini was commended by Councilman Michael A. Loguercio; Mary Bailey was honored by Councilman Neil Foley; and Maura Spery received a commendation from Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig.
