Foul Play Suspected: Central Islip Man Found Dead at Blue Point Beach

Tuesday morning was a bleak one for the South Shore. 

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on March 4th, fifth precinct officers responded to the waterfront located at the end of Blue Point Avenue. A morning jogger passing by reported a body on the beach.

Later identified as Carlos Lopez, 27, the Central Islip resident was pronounced dead at the scene—the result of fatal stab wounds.
