Spring gardening classes are set to begin at the Holtsville Ecology Site & Animal Preserve in Farmingville, NY. Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro has announced that both pee-wee and adult gardening classes will start in April.

“In addition to being a great value, these classes are a fun and educational way to welcome spring,” said Losquadro. “Children will learn about the environment, animals, and plants through crafts and stories, while adult participants will learn how to start plants through propagation and create backyard flower arrangements.”

The cost for each class is $50 for a five-week session. Adult horticulture classes are scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, April 3, 10, 24, and May 1 and 8. The pee-wee gardening classes cater to children aged three to five years old. Two five-week sessions are available: Tuesday, April 1, 8, 22, 29, and May 6 or Wednesday, April 2, 9, 23, 30, and May 7. Both sessions offer time slots from either 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
