Officials thank university baseball team for beach clean-up efforts

Jonathan Kornreich Council District 1 | Town of Brookhaven

On April 4, Brookhaven Town's Supervisor Dan Panico and Deputy Supervisor/Councilman Neil Foley visited Corey Beach in Blue Point to express their gratitude to the St. Joseph’s University “Golden Eagles” baseball team. The team dedicated a crisp, spring day to cleaning up the beach. The 40 team members, equipped with rubber gloves, trash pickers, and garbage pails, walked the entire beach, ensuring it was left clean and free of trash.

The St. Joseph’s University “Golden Eagles” baseball team, part of the National College Athletic Association's Division III level, has been competing mainly in the Skyline Conference since the 1999–2000 academic year.

To engage with the community, the Town of Brookhaven invites residents to participate in the Great Brookhaven Cleanup on May 17. More information is available at Brookhavenny.gov.
