Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the North Shore Little League's Opening Day ceremonies on April 5 in Farmingville, New York. The event marked the start of a season for children aged six to sixteen to play baseball and softball at the fields on Route 25A in Rocky Point.

"The North Shore Little League is great for kids to have fun and enjoy spending hours playing America’s pastime," said Councilwoman Bonner. She added, "I always know that summer is just around the corner when I hear the words ‘play ball!’ on opening day."

The league began in 1963 and continues to offer organized sports for local youth. State Assemblywoman Jodie Giglio and Quentin Palifka, who represented Suffolk County Legislator Chad Lennon, were also present at the event.
