On April 26, Supervisor Dan Panico attended events to honor the Manorville and Medford Fire Departments. Joined by colleagues and community members, the ceremonies took place during the respective departments' annual installation dinners.
The Manorville Fire Department held its dinner at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point, with Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig also in attendance. Later in the evening, the Medford Fire District hosted its event at East Wind in Wading River, where Councilman Neil Foley and other local officials were present.
“These events are more than ceremonies — they are a chance for us to come together and thank the men and women who serve our communities with bravery, skill, and compassion,” said Supervisor Panico. “Our volunteer firefighters leave their homes, their families, and their work at a moment’s notice to protect us. They are the very definition of public service.”
Panico further stated, “While I was unable to attend the events held by the Mastic Beach and Middle Island Fire Departments, I appreciate all the selfless service that all of our volunteer departments provide to the people of Brookhaven Town.”
