A Staten Island resident has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against Dr. Warren K. Slaten and The Regenerative Healing Center, alleging medical malpractice and negligence.

According to the complaint filed by plaintiff Angel Deruvo, she received treatment from May 2019 through January 2023 for joint pain. She claims she was administered excessive doses of hormones during this period, which allegedly led to significant health complications. On May 12, 2023, Deruvo was admitted to Richmond University Medical Center with symptoms of bloating and discomfort. A subsequent hysterectomy revealed a ruptured ovarian mass that was diagnosed as primary left ovarian cancer with mixed adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma components.

The complaint alleges that Dr. Slaten and The Regenerative Healing Center failed to provide appropriate medical care consistent with accepted standards. The defendants are accused of neglecting to take an adequate medical history, failing to perform necessary examinations and treatments, improperly prescribing medication, and failing to disclose potential risks associated with the treatment plan.

Dervuo seeks compensation for personal injuries she claims resulted from the defendants' negligence and lack of informed consent. The complaint seeks $6 million in damages, including $5 million for personal injury and $1 million for alleged failure to obtain informed consent.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Anthony L. Ameduri of Ameduri, Galante & Friscia LLP. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York under Case ID 1:25-cv-02705.
