Local Leaders and Community Groups Join Forces to Clean Up Miller Place beachfront

Great Brookhaven Cleanup | Town of Brookhaven

Town of Brookhaven Councilwoman Jane Bonner participated in the Great Brookhaven Cleanup alongside the Coastal Steward.

The event focused on cleaning up the beach near Landing Road in Miller Place.

Councilwoman Bonner joined Treasurer Mark Campo and a group of volunteers to remove trash and debris from the shoreline, aiming to protect the local marine ecosystem.

“This beach is a natural treasure, and it’s our responsibility to keep it clean and safe,” said Councilwoman Bonner. “I’m grateful to the Coastal Steward and all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make a visible difference in our community. When we come together like this, we show just how much we care about our environment and our future.”

The cleanup highlighted the significance of maintaining clean waterfronts for marine wildlife, recreation, and Long Island's coastal health.

The Coastal Steward remains active in protecting local shorelines through volunteer-driven cleanups and educational outreach. Those interested in participating can visit https://www.coastalsteward.org/volunteer.html or call (631) 941-6528 for more information.
