Music legend and Long Island icon Billy Joel recently announced the indefinite cancellation of upcoming tour dates after being diagnosed with a debilitating cognitive function and brain condition called “Normal pressure hydrocephalus.”

Broken-hearted fans did not have to see the lights go out on Broadway for too long, though, as the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) announced a special discount on tickets for its exclusive Joel-themed exhibit moving forward.

Entitled “Billy Joel My Life: A Piano Man’s Journey,” one of the LIMEHOF museum’s premier offerings is located at 97 Main Street in Stony Brook. Tickets can be purchased online and at the Stony Brook Village museum counter.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Billy and his family, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery,” said LIMEHOF Chairman Ernie Canadeo in the same statement where the organization introduced its special discount offer.

Those interested in redeeming said discount can use promo code “welovebilly” on LIMEHOF’s ticket page at limusichalloffame.org. Whether online or in-person, ticket purchasers will receive $5 off if they pounce by June 6th.

Tickets will be valid through Aug. 31st. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to LIMEHOF’s Annual Student Scholarship Fund for graduating high school seniors pursuing music and performing arts at the collegiate level.
