Supervisor Panico Announces Results of Brookhaven Town’s 2025 Prom Gown Program

INTERFACE Prom Gown Program | Town of Brookhaven

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico has announced the results of the Town of Brookhaven’s 2025 INTERFACE Prom Gown Program, coordinated by the Department of General Services Youth Bureau.

This year the program provided prom gown dresses, shoes, and accessories to more than 160 high school students in Brookhaven Town.“Beyond dresses, shoes, and accessories, the Youth Bureau’s Prom Gown Program fosters confidence, inclusion, and celebration by ensuring financial barriers don’t prevent students from experiencing their prom,” Supervisor Panico said.

“This helps boost self-esteem and creates lasting memories, benefiting both students and their families.”Prom Gown Program Information:

  • In response to the overwhelming cost of prom season, young ladies are outfitted with gowns and other accessories at no cost, which are theirs to keep.
  • Gowns and accessories are provided to high school students, who otherwise would not be able to participate in their prom due to financial constraints.
  • The gowns collected are mostly new and, along with the accessories, are given to those who participate in the program.
  • There is no charge for this service, and all clients’ information is kept strictly confidential.
INTERFACE is a partnership between individuals, good corporate neighbors, and the Town of Brookhaven, united in a common effort to help Brookhaven's less fortunate residents.

It provides goods and services to those in need and addresses social issues. INTERFACE uses each person's and corporation's unique ability and creativity to tackle these problems in concert with the Town.

The INTERFACE Program also provides educational awareness with various community groups and colleges, providing them with information on how they can better serve their town by volunteering their time and talents with those less fortunate.
