On June 22, Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the 20th Annual Blessing of the Fleet at Mount Sinai Yacht Club. The event is a longstanding tradition that honors Long Island's boating community and marks the start of the boating season.

The gathering included club members, clergy, and local residents. This year marked two decades since the event became part of Mount Sinai's summer calendar.

Councilwoman Bonner expressed her pleasure in participating in this community tradition. "It is always a pleasure to take part in this community tradition," she stated. "The Blessing of the Fleet is not only a celebration of our coastal way of life, but a reminder of the importance of safety, community, and stewardship of our waterways."

She also praised the yacht club for its commitment to the event over the years. Councilwoman Bonner acknowledged their dedication and thanked those who contribute to making it special each year.
