Brookhaven officials announce completion of $400K Shirley paving project

Precision Drive and Ramsey Road | Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven has completed a $400,000 paving project in Shirley, New York.

The work focused on resurfacing Precision Drive and Ramsey Road, which are located just south of the Long Island Expressway and east of William Floyd Parkway.

Before the new pavement was laid down, crews checked drains and replaced damaged concrete sidewalks, aprons, and curbing.

Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Daniel Losquadro said, “The paving of Precision Drive and Ramsey Road in front of the Amazon hub in Shirley buttoned up that industrial park nicely, as we were able to resurface the balance of the roadways that we began paving last year. Those roadways see an inordinate amount of traffic just from the Amazon trucks coming in and out of that facility alone.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio commented on the project’s completion: “As always, Highway Superintendent Losquadro and his team did a wonderful job, especially on a road that has such high truck traffic. Thank you to the entire department for another job extremely well done!”

The improvements aim to address wear caused by heavy vehicle use related to nearby commercial facilities.

The Fantasy Baseball Experience - Impact Jays Are Returning

As the fantasy season starts to dwindle down it gets harder and harder to find gems off of the waiver wire. Sure, you will be able to grab the next hot thing from AAA when the rosters expand in a few weeks, but they are unproven talent. In order to get proven MLB talent off of waivers, or in a trade that doesn't give them their value back, you have to be very shrewd.
