Brookhaven completes resurfacing and drainage upgrades on Whiskey Road

Jane Bonner Councilwoman District 2 | Town of Brookhaven

The Brookhaven Town Highway Department has completed resurfacing a 2.3-mile section of Whiskey Road, stretching from Ridge Road in Ridge to County Road 21 in Middle Island. The project included inspecting and repairing drains, installing additional drainage, and raising the road at several locations to address flooding issues in low-lying areas. The total cost for the project was $660,980.

Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro commented, “Whiskey Road is a major artery in Brookhaven Town and was in need of resurfacing. With the drainage improvements that were made, it is now smoother and safer for motorists and bicyclists.”

Councilwoman Jane Bonner noted, "Whiskey Road is a roadway many of us use every day, and these improvements will make a real difference for our neighbors. By fixing the drainage and giving the road a much-needed resurfacing, we’re helping families, commuters and bicyclists travel more safely. I want to thank our Highway Department for listening to residents’ concerns and delivering a project that benefits the whole community."

Councilman Michael Loguercio added, “Thank you to our Highway Department for another job very well done, on a huge project that reached across two council districts.”
