Neil A. Manzella Council District 3 | Town of Brookhaven

Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Manzella have announced the completion of several road resurfacing projects in Farmingville, Centereach, Lake Grove, and Lake Ronkonkoma.

The first project included resurfacing 24 roads north of Granny Road in Farmingville. Before paving, crews replaced damaged concrete aprons, curbing, and sidewalks at a cost of about $1 million. The total cost for this part of the project was approximately $2.6 million.

Two additional projects involved resurfacing 19 roads between Sycamore Avenue and Smith Road, covering areas from Centereach to Lake Grove and Lake Ronkonkoma. The combined cost for these projects was around $1.1 million.

A final project saw the resurfacing of 11 roads south of Middle Country Road in Centereach. Concrete improvements were made prior to paving at a cost of nearly $200,000. The overall cost for this section was about $600,000.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “This year, we’ve been able to complete a substantial amount of work in the Centereach/Farmingville/Lake Ronkonkoma area. Roads in these neighborhoods are now safer and smoother for all who travel them.”

Councilman Manzella stated, “It’s great to see long-needed road work getting done, and the newly paved roads look excellent. I want to thank our Highway Department for staying on top of so many miles of infrastructure, it’s definitely no easy task. These improvements will make our roads safer for everyone.”
