A former employee has filed a lawsuit against her previous employer, alleging severe workplace harassment and negligence. On November 14, 2025, Jessica Favin submitted a complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Public Label, LLC. The complaint outlines allegations of retaliation under the New York State Human Rights Law (NYSHRL) and the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), as well as a negligence claim under New York common law.
Jessica Favin claims that during her employment with Public Label, LLC—a marketing company servicing liquor brands—she was subjected to dangerous working conditions and inappropriate demands. Hired in late 2022 to promote the Hennessy brand at events, she was required to work in high-risk neighborhoods wearing provocative outfits. Favin reported numerous incidents where customers made inappropriate comments or engaged in harassing behavior towards her. Despite voicing her concerns and requesting safety measures, such as wearing warmer clothing during winter events or leaving early when feeling unsafe, her requests were consistently denied by supervisors like Angelica Boccella and Josh Beck-Jones.
The complaint details several specific incidents of harassment and assault that Favin experienced while working at these events. For instance, on May 18, 2023, an employee at one event allegedly touched her inappropriately, leading to a panic attack. Although Public Label apologized for this incident, Favin asserts that no substantial steps were taken to prevent future occurrences or ensure her safety. Instead of addressing these issues constructively, Favin alleges that the company retaliated against her for reporting these incidents by terminating her employment on June 19, 2023.
Favin is seeking compensatory damages for emotional distress and loss of wages due to what she describes as a hostile work environment perpetuated by Public Label's negligence and failure to act upon complaints of harassment. She is also pursuing punitive damages for what she perceives as willful neglect by the company in ensuring employee safety.
Represented by attorneys Douglas B. Lipsky and Sara Isaacson from Lipsky Lowe LLP, Jessica Favin is asking the court for an award of at least $300,000 in damages along with other reliefs deemed appropriate by the court. The case ID is 1:25-cv-06351.
