Patchogue-Medford High School seniors Kate Comiskey and Sophia Fox achieved remarkable recognition this season, standing out as two of only eighteen field hockey student-athletes in all of Suffolk County to earn prestigious All-State honors. Their dedication, skill, and leadership were instrumental to the success of the Patchogue-Medford field hockey program, and their achievements highlight the hard work they have put into the sport throughout their high school careers.
Kate Comiskey, the team’s standout goalkeeper, was further honored with the title of Suffolk County Goalie of the Year, a distinction awarded to the top keeper in the county. Her exceptional reflexes, consistent composure under pressure, and ability to lead the defensive unit made her an invaluable asset on the field. Throughout the season, Kate delivered numerous key saves in crucial moments, helping keep her team competitive against some of the strongest programs in the region. Her award reflects not only her talent but also her deep commitment to her craft and her role as a team leader.
Sophia Fox also distinguished herself with an outstanding season, earning All-Region recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. This honor is reserved for athletes who demonstrate excellence at a level beyond the county, marking Sophia as one of the top field hockey players in the northeastern United States. Her versatility, speed, and ability to create scoring opportunities made her a constant threat on the field. Coaches across the region took note of her impact, resulting in one of the highest individual accolades available to a high school field hockey player.
Both Kate and Sophia have set a high standard for future Patchogue-Medford athletes. Their achievements reflect the strength of the program and the dedication of student-athletes committed to excellence.
