John DeBenedetto, principal of Floyd Academy, has been selected to receive a Long Island School Hero Award presented by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying. This award highlights Long Island educators K-12 and beyond who have been inspirational in their roles and continue to go above and beyond by modeling qualities such as empathy, patience, creativity, dedication, leadership, compassion, inclusivity, and respectfulness. Mr. DeBenedetto is one of just 22 educators being honored this year.

Homecoming Weekend Kicks off in Center Moriches
Later in the afternoon, Center Moriches High School held its own pep rally. The fall season athletic teams were each introduced to the crowd while the marching band performed from the stands. Barnwell exceeded all expectations as he ran all over Pat-Med. Barnwell rushed 21 times for 170 yards and one touchdown.
