Authorities seek public's help in identifying vandals at Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilman Neil Foley have called on residents to assist in identifying three young males suspected of vandalizing the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park at Lake Ronkonkoma. The incident, which involved graffiti and the spray painting of a security camera, occurred on the night of September 2 after 8:00 pm. The suspects were seen driving a dark-colored sedan of an unknown make and model.
Brookhaven to celebrate history at annual country fair
The Town of Brookhaven will host its annual Country Fair on September 21 and 22 at the historic Longwood Estate in Ridge, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The event will include historic re-enactments, demonstrations, food, entertainment by the Ed Travers Band, craft vendors, children’s activities, a Tesla Museum exhibit, a dog show, a vintage apron show, and house museum tours. The owner, Patricia Patten, received a $25,000 Main Street Revitalization Grant from PSEG Long Island to help establish her business. The studio aims to inspire creativity and provide a welcoming environment for artists of all levels.
