Early voting for town and county elections starts this Saturday, October 28 and continues every day until Sunday, November 5. Voters can also cast their ballots at their regular polling places on Election Day, November 7. For more information on where and when you can vote, go to www.suffolkcountyny.gov/departments/BOE.

This year’s elections include the Suffolk County executive, all 18 county legislators, judges, town supervisors, and council members. Also on the ballot will be highway superintendents and receiver of taxes candidates. Check out next week’s edition of the South Shore Press for a complete candidate roundup and our endorsements.

Turning over the candidate ballot, voters will be asked to decide on two propositions: An amendment to the state Constitution that will remove the debt limitation on small city school districts so they will be treated the same as other districts and an amendment to extend for ten years the authority of counties, cities, towns, and villages to remove debt from their constitutional limits for the construction of sewage facilities.
