Throughout December, the Smithtown Fire Department conducted a drive to support families in need during the holiday season. The department collected toys and food at its headquarters located at 100 Elm Ave in Smithtown. The collection effort culminated on December 14th during the Christmas parade, where donations of toys and food were still being accepted.

In total, around 10 cases of food and 25 toys were gathered through this initiative. The donated toys were sent to St. Patrick's Church Parish Outreach for distribution among families in Smithtown who require assistance. Meanwhile, the collected food was provided to the Smithtown Food Pantry.

The department's actions aimed to offer some relief and joy to those facing challenges during the festive period.
