The Lions Seniors Put On A Show

The Longwood Lions held their senior night and the Lions senior-laden lineup gave the fans exactly what they wanted as they watched their team on the home floor walk away with a victory.

The Lions beat Patchogue Medford High School by a score of 75-54. The 21 point win made a special night even more special. Players met with their families on the court beforehand and with cheerleaders and fans yelling their names were able to soak up the moment with their parents one last time.

The district said "A special shoutout and heartfelt thank you to our outstanding senior athletes for their dedication, passion, and hard work over the years. They will be missed, but their achievements and contributions during their last season are unforgettable and will leave a lasting impact on our program and community! Congratulations to Imole Akinwale, Shawn Annis, Adam Eljamali, Danye Glenn, Jeremy Lowe, Ryan Mandaro, Brayden Plugues, and Messiah Smith for their dedication and contributions to the team, and we wish them the very best in their future endeavors."

The seniors put on a show for the crowd. Adam Eljamali led the way with 24 points and he was deadly from deep with 5 three pointers. Imole Akinwale put up an impressive 17 points and hit a deep three himself. Danye Glenn scored 10 points to give the Lions three players in double digits for points on the night. Shawn Annis had 8 points, Jeremy Lowe added a bucket, Ryan Mandaro hit his free throw to put him in the scoring column, Brayden Plugues had a field goal, and Messiah Smith hit a big three to give him 7 points.

The Lions sit at 14-5 overall and 7-4 in conference in second place.
