Wolfie reaches semifinal stage in SUNY Mascot Madness competition

Wolfie SUNY Mascot | Stony Brook University

Wolfie, the mascot of Stony Brook University, has progressed to the semifinals in the SUNY Mascot Madness competition. In a recent quarterfinal match, Wolfie secured over 52 percent of the vote against Flick from Finger Lakes Community College. The next challenge will be against Damien the Great Dane from Albany, with voting starting on Wednesday, March 26.

Supporters can cast their votes through the SUNY Mascot Madness website during each round. Additionally, beginning at noon on March 27, votes via SUNY's Instagram Story will count double for a period of 24 hours.

The Mascot Madness contest was launched in 2013 and serves as an annual event that brings together mascots from various SUNY campuses to determine which one is favored by fans across New York State. The format resembles that of the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.

Wolfie has previously claimed victory in this competition twice, winning in both 2022 and 2023 against Oakie the Acorn from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Fans are encouraged to follow and support Wolfie's journey using hashtags #wolfie and #MascotMadness on social media platforms.
