Old School Kirwin Mows 'Em Down

We had an early season gem on the diamond between Eastport-South Manor and Harborfields this week which resulted in an old school style pitcher's duel.

Eastport-South Manor won 1-0 as Noah Kirwin not only won the game but he threw a no hitter in the process. Kirwin finished with 100 pitches throw and he was as dominant as the stat line shows with an eye popping 17 strikeouts.

The tone was set early in this one as Kirwin struck out the first 13 batters he faced. He barely missed a perfect game as he walked one batter in the 5th inning.

The hard luck loser Harborfields Joe Deceglie who matched Kirwin through 5 but the Sharks scored in the bottom of the 7th to keep their unbeaten record alive this season.

Kirwin is looking like that work horse ace as he has now thrown complete games in each of his two starts this year. He has 21 strikeouts and has yet to allow a run. He should be lined up to face Half Hollow Hills in his next start at home this weekend.
