The Suffolk County Comptroller’s Office announced yet another victory this week in the form of a “pass” rating for its internal quality control system. ALGA—which stands for The Association of Local Government Auditors–served as the issuing entity.
An on-site Peer Review of the Audit Division’s 2022-2024 performance took place last month. According to ALGA’s findings, Suffolk County was officially deemed compliant with Government Auditing Standards (GAS).
In a letter to Suffolk County Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr., ALGA praised the County Audit Division’s organizational efficiency, skilled staff, electronic paperwork, audit reports, and operational thoroughness, despite the robust size of its office.
“We found this peer review to be a valuable and constructive process and sincerely thank the team for the thoughtful insights that they shared from their experiences,” said Comptroller Kennedy.
