Dress for Success Brookhaven receives clothing donation to aid local women

Daniel J. Panico Supervisor | Town of Brookhaven

Dress for Success Brookhaven recently received a donation of professional women’s clothing from the Wonder Women of Dime, an affinity group at Dime Community Bank. The group focuses on supporting both Dime employees and women in local communities.

Dress for Success Brookhaven provides women with professional attire, support networks, and career development tools to help them achieve economic independence. Since its founding in 1999, with backing from the Town of Brookhaven and the Division of Women’s Services, as well as over 50 volunteers, the organization has assisted more than 6,000 women.

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Daniel J. Panico expressed appreciation for community support: “We are very grateful for this wonderful donation from Dime Community Bank, and for all the support Dress for Success Brookhaven receives from kind-hearted residents and local businesses,” said Panico. “Without these donations, this vital program would not be able to flourish or fulfill its mission of helping unemployed and underemployed women achieve economic independence.”

The organization accepts donations of new and gently used business attire and accessories such as handbags, scarves, and jewelry at Brookhaven Town Hall every Monday between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. More information is available by calling Dress for Success Brookhaven at 631-451-9127.
