CJC Distributors, LLC has launched a significant legal battle against multiple logistics companies and individuals, accusing them of mishandling and misappropriating goods worth over $1 million. The complaint was filed by CJC Distributors, LLC in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York on December 11, 2025, targeting Logistify LLC, Diversified Logistics LLC, Star One Transport LLC, Majumder Logistics Inc., and Swadhin C. Majumder.
The lawsuit centers around a shipment of power tools that CJC Distributors contracted to transport from Nevada to New York in April 2025. According to the complaint, Logistify LLC was responsible for arranging the transportation but allegedly failed to verify the identity of the carrier properly. This oversight led to unauthorized parties obtaining shipment details and ultimately re-brokering the load without consent. The goods were then picked up by Majumder Logistics under false pretenses using a fraudulent Bill of Lading and diverted to California instead of their intended destination in New York.
CJC Distributors accuses Logistify of breaching its contract by failing to ensure secure delivery procedures and protect confidential shipment information. They claim that Logistify's negligence resulted in significant financial losses exceeding $1 million due to lost goods and associated costs. Furthermore, CJC alleges that Swadhin C. Majumder knowingly engaged in fraudulent activities by signing documents under false identities and diverting shipments unlawfully.
The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages not less than $1,081,133.29 for breach of contract, negligence, fraud, conversion, violation of the Carmack Amendment (which governs carrier liability), misappropriation, and unjust enrichment against all defendants involved. Additionally, they are pursuing punitive damages to deter similar conduct in the future.
Representing CJC Distributors are attorneys Aviva Francis and Rachel Wrubel from Jacobowitz Newman Tversky LLP based in Cedarhurst, New York. The case is presided over by an unnamed judge with Case ID 2:25-cv-06837.
