Students at William Floyd High School are preparing for their fall theater production of "Kodachrome" by Adam Szymkowicz. The play will be performed on November 1 and 2 at 6:30 pm in the Nick Poulos Auditorium. Tickets are priced at $10 and can be purchased online or at the door.

"Kodachrome," inspired by Thornton Wilder’s "Our Town," is set in Colchester, Connecticut. It features Suzanne, a town photographer, who introduces the audience to various residents as their relationships develop.

This marks the first full-length play produced by the high school in several years. Berkeley Rousseau, director of William Floyd Theatre Arts, expressed enthusiasm about the production: “I picked up this script at a bookstore on a whim and immediately fell in love upon reading it,” he said. “As we have explored these characters and relationships, I have watched the students fall in love with the show too.”

The program has expanded to include student-led directing roles this year. Mr. Rousseau stated, “In building the theater program, I want to see students step into creative team roles.” Ashlyn Manion and Michael Pedra serve as assistant directors while also performing on stage.

The cast includes Janelly Bednarek as the Photographer; Kaelyn Green as the Gravedigger; Michael Pedra as the Hardware Store Owner; Gianna DeMuria-Alvero as the Librarian; Kolton Chamberlain as the History Professor; Katelynn Glover as the Mystery Novelist; Gabriel Villacis as the Young Man; Katerina Fantini as the Young Woman; Ashlyn Manion as the Waitress; Ben Zozzaro as the Perfume Maker; Sam Greene as Policeman; Isabella McCreery as Florist; Rajana Heron as Marjory; Mia Balcarcel and Jonathan Sheffey as EMTs.

The production is overseen by Dr. Amy Sckipp and directed by Berkeley Rousseau, with Erika Licausi handling costumes, Michelle Seifert designing sets, and Meghan Jones managing props.

Rajana Heron designed a billboard for "Kodachrome." The performances promise to offer audiences moments of laughter and reflection.
