Three students from the William Floyd School District have been selected for the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA) All-County Jazz bands. These students will perform with other talented musicians from across Suffolk County later this month.

Jackson Seifert, a junior at William Floyd High School, has been named to the SCMEA All-County Jazz Band for the fourth consecutive year. Under the guidance of Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland, Jackson is part of the Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. A trombonist, he first received All-County honors as an eighth grader at William Paca Middle School. Jackson also earned the SCMEA Private Study Scholarship as a freshman and was recently chosen for the Julliard Pre-College Program.

Ryan Formato, an eighth-grade student at William Floyd Middle School, was selected for the SCMEA Middle School All-County Jazz Band. Ryan is a percussionist who has received All-County honors for three years in a row. He also won the SCMEA Private Study Scholarship as a seventh grader.

Emilia Biancospino, representing William Paca Middle School, is an eighth-grade vocalist who has been honored with All-County recognition for three consecutive years. Emilia participated in the SCMEA Day of Jazz as a seventh grader and has performed in several musical productions at her school.

The directors of these students are Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland (WFHS), Dawn Conefry (WFMS), and Margaret Pizzarelli (William Paca).
