The New York Climate Exchange has announced a significant financial contribution from Glenn Dubin and Eva Andersson-Dubin, MD. The $10 million gift will support the organization's efforts to implement innovative climate solutions in New York City and globally.
Stephen Hammer, CEO of The Exchange, expressed gratitude for the donation: “We’re grateful to the Dubin Family Foundation for this very generous gift which will help us dramatically expand the scale of impact we can have on pressing climate challenges and opportunities.”
Richard L. McCormick, co-chair of The Exchange's Board of Directors and interim president of Stony Brook University, emphasized the importance of collaboration: “The Exchange provides a platform for researchers and experts from multiple disciplines, institutions and nations to come together to tackle one of our world’s most pressing challenges."
This donation also activates an additional $10 million through the Simons Foundation’s matching gift challenge, doubling its impact to $20 million.
Glenn Dubin highlighted the urgency for cooperative climate initiatives: “The imperative need for collaborative climate solutions grows clearer with each passing day.”
The New York Climate Exchange was selected in April 2023 as part of a process to find an educational partner focused on developing scalable climate solutions. It plans to establish its operations in a new facility on Governors Island by 2028.
The Dubin Family Foundation, founded by Glenn Dubin and Eva Andersson-Dubin in 2002, is known for supporting various causes including poverty alleviation, education access, breast cancer care improvement, medical research advancement, and arts support.
