Food Lab introduces immunity workshop series with Nadia Ernestus

Richard L. McCormick Interim President | Stony Brook University

The Food Lab at Stony Brook Southampton is introducing a workshop series titled "Boost Your Immunity Naturally," which will be led by health coach and educator Nadia Ernestus. The workshops are scheduled to begin in January 2025.

The aim of this series is to provide participants with knowledge and experience in improving immune health through the use of raw foods and natural practices. The program includes both theoretical insights and practical demonstrations, equipping attendees with tools for daily application.

Nadia Ernestus, who will lead the workshops, is recognized as a nutritional and lifestyle health coach based in the Hamptons, New York. She graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. After working on Wall Street and in real estate, she redirected her career towards promoting healthy living. Ernestus reversed her diabetes diagnosis through dietary changes and founded Hamptons Brine, specializing in fermented foods.

Workshops will take place weekly starting January 2025 at the Food Lab on Stony Brook Southampton's campus. They are open to participants of all skill levels. For more information or to register, visit thefoodlab.org/education/power-up or contact Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz via email.

The Food Lab serves as a center for culinary exploration at Stony Brook Southampton, focusing on innovation and education where gastronomy intersects with science and sustainability. Its mission includes establishing Stony Brook University as a national hub for addressing food-related challenges linked to climate change and resource scarcity.
