William Floyd High School senior Milton Calderon-Suriel has secured a full four-year scholarship to the University of Chicago through the QuestBridge National College Match program. Out of over 25,500 applicants nationwide, Milton was one of just 2,627 students matched with a college. He plans to major in computer science.

QuestBridge connects high-achieving seniors with top colleges and universities, providing access to the QuestBridge Scholars Network, which offers educational and career opportunities. Arianna Scanlon, Milton's guidance counselor, praised him as "bright, determined and intuitive," adding that "success is a part of who he is."

Milton has maintained a 99.5 GPA while taking honors and Advanced Placement classes. He will be a first-generation high school graduate this June and aims to be a first-generation college student in the fall.

In addition to academics, Milton is on the boys' varsity track team at his high school. Ms. Scanlon noted his independent and resilient personality: “He puts forth his best effort consistently.”

The National College Match program admits recipients early to any of its 52 partner colleges using their own funds along with state and federal aid for the Match Scholarship. Ana Rowena Mallari, Co-Founder and CEO of QuestBridge said: “We are delighted to welcome this record-breaking number of QuestBridge Scholars.”

This year's recipients hail from all U.S. states and territories with an average GPA of 3.94; 92% rank in the top 10% of their class. The majority are first-generation college students.

Finalists joining QuestBridge partners become part of the Scholars Network connecting them with peers from similar backgrounds. QuestBridge also offers programs like full-tuition scholarships for MBA studies through Graduate School Match: MBA.

Congratulations were extended to Milton for receiving this prestigious scholarship.
