Regents exams scheduled for William Floyd High School from January 21-24

April Coppola President | William Floyd School District

William Floyd High School will conduct the New York State Regents examinations from January 21 to January 24, 2025. During this period, a modified transportation schedule will be in effect. Students are required to attend only their scheduled exams.

The school has set specific expectations to ensure optimal test-taking conditions. Students will undergo searches upon entering the building and should bring only necessary test materials. Backpacks and pocketbooks will be confiscated.

According to the NYS Education Department, cell phones and electronic devices are prohibited inside the building. Any such items brought in will be confiscated and can be retrieved by a parent or guardian at the High School Main Office between 8 am and 3:30 pm. The use of communication devices during exams is strictly forbidden; violations will result in invalidation of the student's exam with no score awarded.

Students must sit for their exams on the specified days without any make-up opportunities. Each exam session lasts three hours, during which students must remain present for the entire duration.

Cold grab-and-go food options will be available before exams start in both north and south lobbies. Students taking buses should arrive at their bus stops at regular times for morning exams and at 11:15 am for afternoon sessions.

Passing multiple Regents examinations is a requirement by the New York State Education Department for obtaining a high school diploma. Attendance at these exams is expected as it affects graduation eligibility. For questions about state-mandated testing requirements, students or guardians should contact guidance counselors.

For concerns regarding this information, contact the high school office at 874-1177 or reach out to your child’s guidance counselor at 874-1130.
