Stony Brook innovators honored on National Inventors' Day

The Office for Research and Innovation, along with Intellectual Property Partners (IPP), took the opportunity on National Inventors’ Day to honor the contributions of Stony Brook University inventors. The event, which occurred on February 11, highlighted the innovative work being done at the university in fields such as energy storage, biomedical imaging, and nanotechnology.

Sean Boykevisch, Director of IPP, emphasized the importance of these innovations by stating: “On National Inventors’ Day, we celebrate the brilliant minds at Stony Brook University whose innovations shape the future.” He further noted that “their creativity, persistence, and groundbreaking discoveries not only advance technology but also improve lives. Today, we honor their contributions and the spirit of invention that drives progress.”

Stony Brook inventors were acknowledged for their recently issued patents and their ability to translate lab research into practical applications. This recognition underscores their role in advancing technology and improving societal well-being.
